What does it mean?!

Chcę wyjaśnić to w kilku ważnych zdaniach.

I would like to offer the following explanation.

I. Uzoma, bardzo dobry pisarz, nominował mnie i mój blog ALE KSIĄŻKI / AND YET THE BOOKS do dwóch nagród The Reader Appreciation Award and The Versatile Blogger Award.

I. Uzoma, a gifted writer, has nominated me, „Wanda” and my blog ALE KSIĄŻKI / AND YET THE BOOKS for both The Reader Appreciation Award and The Versatile Blogger Award.

II. Byłam mu bardzo wdzięczna! Uzoma jest  uprzejmym przyjacielem, który daje nam, wspólnocie bloggerów, swój czas i uwagę, abyśmy poczuli się docenieni. Dziękuję jeszcze raz, Uzoma.

II. I was very  grateful! Uzoma is a gracious friend who gives us, a community of bloggers, his time and attention and makes us feel appreciated. Thank you once more, Uzoma.

III. Próbowałam wybrać swoich kandydatów do nominacji. To zbyt trudne zadanie. W przypadku pierwszej nagrody, The Reader Appreciation Award,  łatwiej wskazać osoby, które na to zasługują, ale ich aktywność (komentowanie) zależy także od osobowości bloggera. Nie potrafiłam również znaleźć najbardziej wszechstronnych blogów.

III. I attempted to choose my own candidates for the nominations. It proved to be a difficult task.  And, although in the case of The Reader Appreciation Award, it would not be impossible  to indicate bloggers  who deserve recognition, in my opinion  what they do  (their comments) greatly depends on a particular blogger’s personality as well .  Moreover, I  was unable to find  the most versatile blogs either.

Mój Pegaz i ja / My Pegasus and me

Pytają mnie o Pegaza z mojego logo. Ten Pegaz stoi na dachu Teatru Wielkiego w Poznaniu, w moim rodzinnym mieście. Uskrzydlony koń symbolizuje moją pierwsza wizytę w teatrze, kiedy miałam 6 lat. Widziałam wtedy  Halkę  – operę Stanisława Moniuszki.
Opuściłam Poznań, ale to miasto ma silny wpływ na mnie i moją kreatywność. To rzeczywiście magiczne miejsce, czasem niepokojące poprzez ponurą architekturę.

 Mam na imię Wanda. Jestem polonistką, dziennikarką i muzeologiem, a także pisarką. Zapraszam do mojej galerii. Znajdziesz mnie tam jako Panią Capulet w sławnym szekspirowskim dramacie i w Muzeum Guggenhaeima.

Someone asked me about Pegasus, my logotype. This Pegasus stands on the roof of Grand Theatre in Poznań, my native city in Poland. [It is the fifth city in Poland in terms of population density.] This winged horse symbolized my first trip to this theatre, when I was six years old. Halka, an opera by the Polish composer Stanisław Moniuszko I saw at that time.

I left Poznan but my native town has still strong influence on me and my creativity. It is really a magical place, sometimes menacing because of its bleak architecture.

My name is Wanda. I am a musologist, Polish philologist, journalists and poet. You are invited to visit my gallery. You can find me there as Lady Capulet in Shakespeare’s famous drama and at the Guggenheim.

TO MY INTERNATIONAL READERS

I am very glad to be read in nearly 40 countries. I would like to introduce myself and tell what I do.
I live in Kazimierz Dolny, a small town on the Vistula River in Poland. The town is often called a „provincial center of high culture.” My co-workers and I feel compelled to meet such challenge at the museum which I direct. These pictures illustrate some of our activities :

Urok starego telefonu / Old fashioned telephone charm

Te eksponaty, należące kiedyś do Marii i Jerzego Kuncewiczów, odgrywały główną rolę w czasach przed telefonią komórkową. Stare nieistniejące już numery telefonów nastrajają mnie nostalgicznie.

These museum pieces that belonged to Maria and Jerzy Kuncewicz played a central role in the pre-cellphone era. Old inactive phone numbers make me feel nostalgic.
